Free Data Analysis Tools

Working with data can be hard,

but it doesn't have to be!

Regular, intentional, and accurate student data analysis is a vital component of continuous improvement. Unfortunately, this work can be extremely time consuming and unnecessarily difficult. I designed the free tools on this page to streamline the data analysis process for schools. Simply upload your data and select your variables from the drop-down menu. The tools will automatically create outputs that you can copy and paste into reports, slide decks, or your own personal notes. Still need more help? Distribution Analysis Tool (DAT)

The Distribution Analysis Tool (DAT) is designed to allow teachers to easily and quickly analyze their student data. With just a few clicks, the DAT will automatically read a column of data from a spreadsheet, calculate seven descriptive statistics, and create two graphs. When used regularly, this tool will help save time and promote the use of data to improve instruction.

Data Disaggregation Tool (DDT)

The Data Disaggregation Tool (DDT) is designed to allow teachers to easily and quickly analyze their student data. With just a few clicks, the DDT will automatically the data from a spreadsheet, disaggregate it by your selected student variable, calculate six descriptive statistics, and create a boxplot to allow you to quickly and easily compare performance between groups of students.

Correlation Matrix Generator

A correlation matrix is a quick and easy way to identify the strength of relationships between two variables, such as the relationship between a demographic group and a student outcome. This correlation matrix generator is an incredibly easy and efficient way for teachers to gain better insight into their data. With just a few clicks, the generator will prepare a color-coded visualization that you can use to jump-start your data conversations.

Distribution Comparison Tool

The Distribution Comparison Tool (DCT) is designed to allow teachers to easily and quickly analyze their student data. With just a few clicks, the DCT will automatically read columns of data from a spreadsheet and create a summary that includes statistical analysis and five visualizations.

Intervention Analysis Tool (IAT)

Teachers design interventions for students every day. Whether it is an instructional intervention designed to increase academic performance or a behavioral intervention designed to lower unpleasant incidents in the classroom, accurate data analysis is a vital element for measuring the impact of the intervention. I designed the Intervention Analysis Tool (IAT) to be an incredibly easy and efficient way for teachers to gain better insight into the impact of single-student interventions. With just a few clicks, the IAT will prepare a report that you can use to jump-start your data conversations.
